Albany's Kitchen is Five Star

This term the school was delighted when we received a five star rating from Chorley Council’s environmental health team during their recent food hygiene inspection. The kitchen received the top rating possible and staff were praised for the high level of cleanliness and the food preparation systems they have in place.

The inspection is designed to ensure that all organisations that are involved in preparation of food that can be consumed by members of the public operate to a safe level. The kitchen staff prepare and serve food during break and lunch to all students and so have to ensure that the highest possible standards are met at all times. Mrs Ruse, Catering Unit Manager, said “We are delighted to receive a grade five from the food standards agency. The top grade reflects all our hard work and determination to succeed. We pride ourselves on providing the very best for our students and the academy and we will continue to do so.”

Headteacher, Mr Mayland said, “Our excellent kitchen staff produce delicious, healthy meals every day for our students and I am delighted that their professionalism and high standards have been recognised by Chorley Council.”
