On Tuesday 27th September 2016, three Year 11 GCSE French students, Afifa Patel, Chloe Cottam and Rhea Howard attended Runshaw College with Miss Newton for a European Languages Day A-Level taster session.
The workshop, which was aimed at high attainers, enabled the students to work alongside A level students, taking part in activities such as analysing French advertising techniques, learning A-Level vocabulary and putting into practice their speaking, thinking and translation skills. The students were also able to sample a continental breakfast.
The three Albany students really enjoyed the event which gave them the opportunity to put their French language skills into practice in an A level setting. Rhea, Chloe and Afifa said, “We really enjoyed all of the A level activities and we are keen to pursue French at A level and perhaps even beyond.”
Miss Newton, who had organised the visit, said, “An enjoyable day was had by all and our Y11 French GCSE students were all very enthusiastic about finding out what A-Level French involves”.
