Staff and students from Albany Academy took part in the annual Children in Need fundraising extravaganza. The school were able to raise another huge total of £838.48 to contribute to the record breaking total of over £46 million that was raised on the night.
The school held a voluntary non-uniform day which saw some students dressed in a Pudsey theme. Everyone who choose to come in non-uniform contributed £1 to the schools fundraising. As well as this, the Year 11 catering students created Pudsey themed biscuits which were sold at break. These were so popular that they had sold out within seconds. At lunch time Year 8 students ran a Chocolate Tombola which alone raised £200.
Mr Crowther, who oversaw the fundraising on the day said, “Yet again our wonderful students went above and beyond with their efforts in raising money for such a fantastic charity. It is always great to see the students and staff working together to help those less fortunate than themselves.”
