Forty-Four GCSE PE students have had a memorable experience as they visited the Echo arena in Liverpool to watch England’s Netball team take on Australia. The game which took place in the evening on the 22nd January was part of an series of fixtures between the nations. It was a great opportunity for the girls to witness the skill and intensity of elite sport and it would hopefully inspire their own performances.
The game was a superb advert for the sport, with Australia winning the game. Mrs Milburn, who organised the event, said, “It was a wonderful experience for our pupils. They all really enjoyed the game despite England losing 51-58.”
Year 11 student, Alex Cornforth, said, “The game was really inspiring, as it encouraged me and the rest of the GCSE group to develop our teamwork skills. It was an amazing opportunity and it opened my eyes to how we can achieve their standards.”
