Albany Academy opened its doors to students, family members and the local community for their 2016 GCSE Art and Photography exhibition. The event was hugely popular with displays of a wide variety of art, photography and resistant materials work produced by students from the Year 11 GCSE Technology Faculty.
The exhibition is an opportunity for students to showcase their talents and all the students work was highly praised by everyone who attended. This was a culmination of two years of hard work by the students and the standard of the work certainly showed the time, effort and dedication the students had put into their creations over the past two years.
Mr Nisbet, Art and Design teacher at Albany said, “This, I feel was the best show to date with some fantastic and varied pupil work on display and it was well attended too. It’s great when people come to view the students outcomes that are created to be viewed and to see the tremendous progress that the students have made throughout their Art education at Albany. A very proud moment for GCSE Art & Photography students.”
Mrs Noble, Head of the Technology Faculty, said, “I am always impressed by the quality of the work produced by the students at Albany but this year has been exceptional. The variety of media and outcomes on display from Art, Photography and Resistant Materials was striking and the involvement of the Food technology staff made it a real team effort.”
