Year 10 students at Albany Academy have been sampling the delights of Runshaw College in order to help them make a more informed career choice.
Students had the opportunity to sample courses such as, Law, Psychology and Sociology which were many students’ first choice of A Level. Students were particularly keen to sample courses such as PE, Film, and Dance as well traditional subjects such as English, Maths, Modern Languages and Fine Art.
Students opting for the Vocational subjects were keen to sample Travel & Tourism, Performing Arts, and Health & Social Care. While Barbering, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy appealed to the more creative students. Catering, Childcare and Public Services topped the list of favourites as did Vocational Sports.
Runshaw College staff were full of praise for the “excellent” attitude and standard of the Albany Students. New Head of Year 10 and 11 at Albany Academy, Mrs Staniforth, said, "The Year 10s had an interesting day at Runshaw. Many pupils sampled totally new subjects and explored faculty areas that interested them. As always, the year group's excellent attitude and first class behaviour was commented upon."
