The KS3 Humanities rewards celebration took place on Tuesday 19th December for pupils who had made the most progress in History in the Autumn term. One pupil from each History class in KS3 was nominated by their History teacher for their hard work and achievement and invited to a celebration with cakes, biscuits and drinks. The KS3 Humanities Rewards next half term will be for progress in Geography.
Pupils and staff all chipped in this week. Well done to everyone who was involved in the Year 10 Drama performance, it was very well received by the parents and staff who watched the 1st live performance by the group. A huge thank you also to our new Year 7 Students who managed to raise over £900 at their Christmas Fair which is going to a great charity, Derian House who support young people and children this Christmas.
The Christmas Concert was a great success with many students entertaining an audience of family and friends with an evening of music, dance and drama which set the tone for Christmas.
Over 100 students tucked into their Christmas lunch on Thursday 21st, served up by senior staff. And finally, the PE staff organised a ‘Santa Dash’ in support of Children in Need, which saw more than 50 staff and students running at least 1 mile in aid of the charity on Thursday afternoon.
The pupils and staff that took part in the Santa dash also had a great time despite the cold weather! Albany Academy certainly showed it's Christmas spirit this year, thanks everyone who took part for this festive season.
