Albany leaves a mark

At the end of this Spring term we will be sad to say goodbye to five of our teaching staff who are leaving us for pastures new. Miss Carpenter, Mr Gordon, Miss Mayor, Miss Cutler and Miss Glover will be all leaving us to start exciting next chapters in their careers.

Miss Carpenter, who teaches History, will be leaving us to join the assessment team at the Department for Education Assessment. During her time here she has been a valuable asset to the school.

Maths teacher, Mr Gordon, leaves us after spending nearly three years at Albany. He started with us as a newly qualified teacher and has developed into an outstanding teacher. He has been a valuable asset to the maths department. Mr Gordon is leaving us to join the maths faculty at Longridge High School.

Miss Mayor has been with us for 12 months, she joined Albany to cover Mrs Cunliffe’s maternity leave and now leaves us to take up a permanent position at Atherton Community School.

Miss Cutler took over from Mr Smith back in 2015, and is joining Liverpool John Moores University to study a Doctorate Psychology in Education.

Miss Glover joined us on a temporary basis at the start of 2017 after Miss Schumacher left to swap her teaching career with a career in the police force. After a short break, Miss Glover will be returning back to Albany to cover Mrs Wallace’s maternity leave.

Both Students and Staff at Albany wishes them all the best in their future careers.
