Preparing for the Annual Primary Speaking Competition

Students from Horwich Parish visited Albany Academy last week. The English department at Albany helped them work on their speeches for the highly successful Primary Speaking Competition which is held each year at Albany Academy.

They discussed what is required to do well in the upcoming speaking competition and they were shown a video demonstrating last year’s winners of the competition, which just happened to be from Horwich Parish. They then discussed ideas for their new topic to be presented at the competition and spent some time working on their speeches.

English teacher, Mr O’Connor, said, “The pupils from Horwich Parish were excellent and came up with some great ideas. They were extremely keen to maintain their winning run in the Primary Speaking Competition and they were a delight to teach.”
