Derian House Children's Hospice Fundraising

Year 7 pupils put together a fundraising event for Derian House Children's Hospice through various activities and events. This year we managed to raise £465 which will go to children, young people and families to start making their quality of life better. Our support to this charity dates back to 1992 and over the course of all the passing years, Albany Academy has raised a staggering £10,115.44.

We are privileged to be counted as friends of the many families we have cared for and supported since the hospice opened as well as those to whom we continue to offer ongoing support. And of course, there will be countless others in the future who will need us to be there for them, to provide not only a high standard of specialist care for their child, but a reassuring framework of emotional support for them as a family.

With minimal funding from statutory sources, the charity is heavily dependent on generosity from local areas and a wider community. This year alone donations have totaled to £3.95 Million.
