Pupil Wellbeing - Lancashire Mind Winners

18 Year 9 students who have been part of the Wellbeing Challenge, attended the Lancashire Mind Wellbeing Challenge Award Ceremony on Wed 27th June and they won ‘The Print Quarter Award for Sustainability’ awarded for the best plans for their assets sustainability.

The Wellbeing Challengers have created an asset such as the new ‘Pupil Wellbeing’ page for the School Website which is already up and running https://www.albanyacademy.co.uk/pupil-wellbeing/ - there are links to information on how to cope with exam stress but also a new topic of anxiety for the new Year 7’s and those who are moving up a year and the new challenges they face.

Other ideas thought of to improve pupil wellbeing which will be introduced in the near future are the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, a punching bag in the PE department to help de-stress and a chill out space.  This will be developed with the new Year 9 Wellbeing Challengers.

The students had a great afternoon celebrating their success with other Schools from Lancashire.  They met Jordan North (Radio 1 DJ) and Danny Sebastian from Bargain Hunt who took time to congratulate pupils about their ideas to improve mental wellbeing in their school.
