Albany Academy’s GCSE Drama students got the opportunity to perform to a live audience as they showcased their talents to Year 5 and 6 students from St James’ Primary School on the 29th and 30th November.
Year three students from Anderton Primary visited Albany Academy this November. The technology department at Albany were helping the Year three class with their current Design Technology topic, 'Structures'.
The Year three students got to experience a high school environment and learn how a laser cutter can help to make precision shapes needed to build a solid structure. The students all had a great time and produced some amazing work.
Design Technology teacher at Albany, Mr Simpkin, said, “The pupils from Anderton Primary were very excited to learn about CAD/CAM and enjoyed seeing the laser cutter. We are looking to arrange another visit for the pupils later in the school year”
Year three teacher at Anderton Primary, Mrs Harrison, said, “All the children enjoyed the workshop which covered key aspects of learning for the Design Technology topic, 'Structures'. The children are looking forward to following up work started in the workshop back at school."
