Students Study the Landscape

Albany Academy Year 11 students took part in a two day Geography Field trip to Hothersall Lodge on the 26th and 27th of September, with a second group attending on the 4th and 5th October. The purpose of the visit was for the students to collect data ahead of their GCSE controlled assessment. The students studied the River Wyre from its source downstream as far as St Michael’s. They noted the changes to the channel as a river moves downstream, including its width, depth, and velocity.
