We develop amazing people.

By teaching the skills of self regulation and the chimp paradox model of the mind, we help students to develop the habits of healthy and happy mindfulness.

Our aim as a school is to develop amazing learners, leaders and employees. Underpinning this we want to develop all our students as amazing people.

AMAZING PEOPLE

At Albany Academy we recognise the importance of creating opportunities for our students to grow and develop as happy, healthy young people.

The work of Dr Steve Peters makes clear exactly what we can all do to manage our mind and become happier, more confident and more successful.

This work is particularly important for students, whose developing brains are especially susceptible to being hijacked by their inner chimp.

The 10 behaviours that Dr Steve Peters advocates, help to develop those positive behaviours that allow students to manage their inner chimps. These form the basis of our Amazing People behaviours.

The 10 Amazing People behaviours are taught in Life Studies and in conversations throughout school.

Our pastoral team provide reflections and interventions based on the chimp management model.

Amazing People

Amazing People is one of our set of four Amazing behaviours which we teach to all students so that they can become Amazing People, Learners, Employees and Leaders. The behaviours are taken from Chimp Management.
