Wellbeing

Pupil Wellbeing is an idea set in place by pupils for pupils. It looks and caters towards pupils wellbeing within the school and outside of school and lets them have a say in what they want to discuss with a different topic term by term.

Importance of sleep

Sleep plays a vital role in our lives as it will lead to good health and well-being throughout your life. It is important in getting enough sleep at night as this will allow you to function properly the next day. This will lead to you feeling grumpy or irritable the next day as well as other side effects that are common with sleepless nights. Below are suggestions of causes that contributed to your bad night’s rest.

Things that may cause sleep deprivation:

·         Homework

·         Technology

·         Social media

·         Unhealthy diet

·         Exams

·         Hormonal time shift

·         After-school activities

·         Not enough exercise

·         Friendship problems

·         Irregular sleeping pattern

Therefore, to get the healthy amount of sleep required, you usually need around 8-9 hours of sleep every night for our brains to be in peak condition for school days. Depending on the person, this can slightly differ between needing slightly more sleep or slightly less. If you continue to have sleepless nights, the lack of sleep can hinder your growth and development, long term this can be damaging to your health. These links below go elaborate further regarding sleep deprivation and other aspects of sleep that can help improve your sleep.
