‘When I read great literature, great drama, speeches, or sermons, I feel that the human mind has not achieved anything greater than the ability to share feelings and thoughts through language.’

The purpose of learning English is to develop excellent understanding and expression of language and critical thinking about a diverse range of texts.

English is taught for 7 hours a fortnight in Year 7 and 6 hours a fortnight in Years 8 and 9.

All students study English language and Literature at GCSE.

We study the Eduqas GCSEs.
